Bungalo34 Introduces New Menu A New Chapter In Taste Begins
Bungalo34, the chic beachside restaurant located on the picturesque Pearl Jumeira Island, is set to introduce an innovative new menu on November 1. Inspired by the essence of the Riviera, the allure of the sea, and the spirit of the 70s, Bungalo34 is the place where one can leave their cares at the door and step back into a golden era. With this new menu, Bungalo34 embarks on the next chapter of an exciting, new food journey.
Within its very first year of opening, Bungalo34 experienced a bustling and highly successful season. “I took a moment to reflect on what Bungalo34 is and what it could become,” shares Head Chef Conor Dirks. “Our aim is to establish Bungalo34 as more than just a busy spot – we want it to be the talk of the town, the must-visit beachside restaurant in Dubai.”
Under the guidance of Founder and CEO Natasha Sideris and Culinary Director Jill Okkers, the new menu has been meticulously curated, balancing the inspirations of new travels, old dishes, and guests expectations with the timeless Riviera-inspired identity of Bungalo34.
Drawing inspiration from experiences in South Africa and Brazil, Chef Conor explored the richness of seafood which left an impressionable mark on his palate. Taking rigorous notes of the flavours, preparation methods, and presentations, he then incorporated what he had discovered into Bungalo34’s identity. It’s all about bringing the sea to the table, where every bite evokes the beauty, depth, and richness of the coast,” he says.
Countless hours of research and collaboration with the team brought the new dishes to life. “Myself, Dennis, our pastry chef, Natasha, and Chef Jill worked closely to refine every dish. We bounced ideas off one another, and with Chef Jill’s expert guidance, we stayed true to Bungalo34’s core identity while pushing the boundaries of food innovation.”
The new menu highlights 16 new dishes, blending fresh variations with reimagined classics. Guests can expect sharing-style dishes such as the Tuscan Salad and Octopus Escabeche, and the reimagined The Greek salad. Creative twists on classics will make their debut, like the Corzetti Pasta, embossed with Bungalo34’s fish logo, and Mediterranean seafood options such as the Fish for One and Lobster Thermidor.
The standout Mussels with Chorizo and Porterhouse Steak with Parmesan Potatoes promise to satisfy both adventurous and traditional palates. In addition, the much-loved Ragu Pizzette makes its return to the menu alongside other delectable options.
From decadent treats like the Chocolate Cheesecake to light, refreshing choices like the Citrus Panna Cotta with Fresh Fruit Granita, the dessert offerings reflect the glamorous retro ambience of Bungalo34.
Chef Conor reflects on the process, explaining that “Creating this menu has been an exhilarating challenge. This is my first big menu development for Natasha, and the pressure was high. Looking back, I realise I have grown tremendously through this journey, staying true to my philosophy: ‘If you keep doing what you can do, you’ll never grow beyond where you are today.’ I’ve learned to pay homage to traditional flavours whilst keeping the Bungalo34 spirit alive, and I’m excited to share these dishes with our guests.”
Guests are invited to sample Bungalo34’s new menu for a refined yet playful experience reflecting the best of Mediterranean and Riviera-inspired cuisine from November 1. Combining the unobstructed seaside views of the Arabian Gulf with the venue’s unique blend of laid-back and elevated atmosphere creates the perfect setting to enjoy new sensations brought by the reimagined menu.
